parts will delay the processing of your application.
Fitness Education Certificate
Entry level and most relevant certificate & degree transcript (if applicable) to be submitted.
By submitting your application, you affirm that any discovery of fake or fraudulent fitness education
certificates will result in the denial of your registration
with REPs UAE. Additionally, your registration fee will not be subject to refund, and you will be
permanently ineligible for future membership with REPs UAE.
Furthermore, your details will be forwarded to the relevant government authorities for their awareness
and appropriate action.

Payment- Gym Instructor, Personal Trainer, Pilates and Yoga Instructor- AED450 per year.
Group Fitness and Aqua Instructor -
AED400 per year.
Before REPs can complete your application, payment must be made. (cash or debit/credit card)
Registration Period:
Registration period is for 12 months and expires on the last day of the month.
A personal trainer has the competence to design exercise programmes for a range of clients with a range of exercise goals and can apply core elements of fitness instruction including health screening, applying the principles of exercise science, supporting long term behaviour change, promoting health and safety, and providing customer service. Personal trainers can carry out a client fitness assessment and use the results to design, manage, review and adapt personal training programmes and deliver safely and effectively. Finally, a personal trainer will understand and apply the principles of nutrition and weight management to their clients programmes.
A gym instructor can independently plan and supervise exercise in the gym. They will be able to apply some core elements of fitness instruction including health screening, principles of anatomy and physiology, motivation, healthy lifestyles, health and safety, and customer service. Gym instructors will have the competence to plan, demonstrate, supervise and monitor gym - based exercise using a variety of equipment and training specifications from cardiovascular, resistance and flexibility training. Gym instructors are not the same as personal trainers and are not able to plan long term individualized programmes for a range of fitness goals and deliver personal training sessions.
A group fitness instructor will focus on the delivery of exercise sessions to a group, normally in the studio environment and has the competence to independently instruct group exercise sessions and instruct one or more types of class discipline depending on the education they hold. They will be able to apply some core elements of fitness instruction to their work including health screening, principles of anatomy and physiology, motivation, healthy lifestyles, health and safety and customer service. Music may or may not be involved in the session and original choreography is not a requirement. Further competences will include planning, preparing and delivering group exercise, bringing a session to an end, and evaluating the session. A group fitness instructor could be qualified with one or more “pre - choreographed” exercise routines, however they will also need to demonstrate competence against core fitness instructor standards.
A group fitness instructor (freestyle) has the competence to plan and instruct group exercise sessions to music. They will be able to apply some core elements of fitness instruction to their work including health screening, principles of anatomy and physiology, motivation, healthy lifestyles, health and safety and customer service. A group fitness instructor (Freestyle) will focus on the delivery of exercise sessions set to music, normally in a studio environment. They will have competency in the planning, selection, sequencing and progression of exercises and appropriate music, and instructing and monitoring participants to ensure safe conduct of activities. They will be able to plan original choreography for sessions. Further competences will include planning, preparing and delivering group exercise, bringing a session to an end and evaluating the session.
A REPs UAE Yoga Instructor has trained, as a minimum, to the standard of the Yoga Alliance RYT 200 instructor standards. The 200 - hour curriculum includes foundational concepts to get started as a yoga teacher. The RYS 200 Core Curriculum includes : 1. Techniques, Training, Practice (Asana, Pranayama & Subtle Body, Meditation) 2. Anatomy and Physiology (Anatomy, Physiology, Biomechanics) 3. Yoga Humanities (History, Philosophy, Ethics) 4. Professional Essentials (Teaching Methodology, Professional Development, Practicum)
A Pilates instructor can design, manage, adapt and deliver a series of mat Pilates sessions for apparently healthy adults. They will be able to apply core elements of fitness instruction including health screening, applying the principles of exercise science, supporting long term behavior change, promoting health and safety, and providing customer service. A Pilates instructor will have the competence to give clear instructions, demonstrate skills and techniques, monitoring a class, and correct exercise with clear and positive feedback. A Pilates instructor can teach participants in a group class environment or work with a single client. The main competences are; designing, preparing and teaching mat Pilates exercises; bringing mat Pilates sessions to an end; monitoring and reviewing participant progress.
A Pilates instructor comprehensive has the competences of a Pilates instructor in relation to mat Pilates and has further competence on a range of Pilates equipment. Normally this category is for instructors who hold the certification of the Pilates Method Alliance.
An aqua fitness instructor has the competence to plan, deliver and evaluate water - based fitness activities. They will be able to apply core elements of fitness instruction to their work including health screening, principles of anatomy and physiology, motivation, healthy lifestyles, health and safety, and customer service. They will be able to understand and apply knowledge of aquatic exercise environments, their benefits and limitations, exercise techniques, and related equipment, exercise progressions, and stretching used in water - based classes. Further competences will include planning pre paring and delivering water - based exercise, bringing a session to an end and evaluating the session.
A children’s fitness instructor has the knowledge and skills required to plan, prepare and deliver safe but effective physical activity sessions for children aged 5 – 11 years and 11 - 15 years. They will also understand the legal and professional requirements, including safeguarding when leading physical activity sessions for children.
A REPs UAE Advanced Exercise Specialist will have exceptional experience in exercise instruction, and specialist education which they have put in to practice with their clients. They will have at least five years’ experience of exercise instruction and references from employers, they will also hold an advanced, high - level certification in a specialised area of exercise instruction, finally, they will have demonstrated at least one year of exercise instruction with the client group(s) covered on their advanced specialist certification. Advanced Exercise Specialists demonstrate unrivalled professionalism at the highest level.
