Clients of REPs UAE Advanced Exercise Specialists benefit from advanced knowledge and experience

Since the beginning of REPs UAE in 2013 there had been no advanced category to recognise experience or advanced specialist skills of exercise professionals. This all changed in 2021 with the launch of the REPs UAE Advanced Exercise Specialist category, which is now live, and the first group of REPs members have formally achieved this new advanced designation.

REPs members who meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply for the new advanced category and demonstrate to their clients, employers and the industry as a whole that they have the skills and experience to operate with the highest level of skills and experience, and serve a wider range of fitness clients.

There are four parts of the eligibility criteria:

Pre-requisite

In order to apply for the Advanced Exercise Specialist category applicants must be full status members of REPs UAE with one of the following categories: Personal Trainer, Pilates Instructor, Yoga Teacher.

Core experience

Experience is a key part of the pre-requisites for the Advanced Exercise Specialist category. This has been set at 5 years continuous experience since the core certification was achieved.

Advanced specialist qualification

The applicant must provide a certificate from an advanced specialist certification. The advanced certification will normally be clinical or health related, this can include vocational and higher education awards

Experience following advanced qualification

It is also necessary to ensure advanced exercise specialists have experience with the client groups covered on their advanced course. One year experience is required after certification with the advanced course.

Applicants can apply for the new category using a dedicated form and there is no cost to apply as long as they are current REPs members.

Once approved REPs members hold the category of Advanced Exercise Specialist. You can search for them in the member directory on the REPs website under “Find Trainer”.
