Signing of a memorandum of understanding to enhance the sports and fitness sector in the UAE

Dubai, UAE – The UAE Sports Sciences and Sports Medicine Center hosted a historic signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 11:00 AM. The event, held at the Center’s headquarters, brought together the UAE Sports Sciences and Sports Medicine Center, the UAE Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, and REPS UAE, under the esteemed patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Al Maktoum, Executive Director of the Sports Development Sector.

This agreement has been launched under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports, strengthening the commitment of the parties to develop the sports sector in alignment with the laws and regulations issued by the ministry and the relevant authorities responsible for regulating and governing sports professions in the country.

The agreement also aims to enhance cooperation between the three parties in the fields of accreditation, training, and professional development in fitness, and related sports. It seeks to develop professional standards and sports facilities that are in line with global best practices, thereby enhancing the UAE's position as a leading sports destination.

Commenting on the agreement, Abdulaziz Ali Al-Hasan Al-Shamsi, Executive Director of the UAE Sports Sciences and Sports Medicine Center, said: “This collaboration represents a significant step toward fostering innovation, professionalism, and excellence in the UAE’s sports and fitness landscape.”

Ali Abdullah Bin Haidar, Vice President of the UAE Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, added: “Through this partnership, we aim to strengthen the presence of bodybuilding and fitness sports in the UAE and provide a competitive environment that supports local and international athletes.”

Nasser Mohammed Al-Tamimi, Executive Director of REPS UAE, stated: “This agreement underscores our commitment to implementing the highest professional standards and offering training and accreditation services that align with global advancements, empowering professionals in the sector and meeting their aspirations.”
